Freshman year, my roommate Mercy dealt me one heck of a crushing blow. She was listening to some awesome song in her room, and I asked her to send it to me so I could have it on my computer, but she replied, "Sometimes I don't like to send you songs I like because you'll listen to them over and over and ruin them." I was offended in that you've-seen-my-soul-and-you-don't-like-it sort of way. But I totally do that! And it does ruin songs! Even for me, sometimes. Half my music library makes me want to hurl because when I first got the awesome songs, I played them to death like a radio station on crack.
Well, I thought I'd share my latest addictions with you all: two songs by Imogen Heap. Mercy and I saw her open for Counting Crows freshman year, and we thought she was weird then, so either she's gotten better or my taste has improved (more likely). I tell myself they're soothing to Maren and she likes them so I have to keep playing them. It COULD be true.
The other one won't let me embed the video, so here it is. I'd like to request that you all close your eyes during this one because, for some reason, it's like an R&B/pop video gone bad....I'm talkin' wind machine and dramatic air grasping-then-pushing-it-away gestures (open your eyes at 1 min 57 sec to see what I mean). And is that glitter on her face? Glitter? Really?

I totally play songs over and over and over again when I first like them...and then it doesn't even ruin them. Ah, the benefits of a freakishly long attention span.
Oh my, baby in my belly was pretty much dancing to that whole first video!
I love Imogen Heap too. when you saw her was she still with frou frou? oh and I had a roommate who also played songs over and over. I thought it was funny:)
petra...i don't ruin all songs for myself...just most. :)
